Once upon a time there was a football referee association...
No, we aren't going to tell you a fairy story but the Planasport site is born out of real life experience and is designed to meet real needs. Marty was pulling his hair out late at night getting his district's appointments out. Not everyone thought he was doing a good job, although some weeks were better than others. The volume of information was overwhelming.
"There's got to be a better way". Maybe a throw away comment at the time, except that he just happened to be talking to Neil.
They discovered that there are a number of things common to all referee associations but two appear to be crucial to the smooth running of all - communications and cash flow.
Planasport was created to lighten the load for referee association appointments officers, treasurers, and membership managers while improving the quality and professionalism of the association for all involved.

* Actually, aside from football and surfing, both Marty and Neil have been professionally involved in Information Technology for more years than they'd like to admit.
Marty brings a wealth of IT support experience in manufacturing and transport logistics along with many years as a Referee Appointments Officer for his home association. He is an active referee and coordinates Summer Six-A-Side competitions for his local area.
Neil has worked in Telecommunications, Finance, and Government in Europe, the USA, and Australia for companies such as Lloyds Bank, Convergys Corporation, Telstra, Westpac Bank, and National Australia Bank. He brings the ability to design and implement reliable robust systems that meet the needs of our 21st century world.
